'Twere the Months Before Dancing...

Y'all know that we like to take a few artistic liberties now and then, and this holiday season is no exception.  We were positive that we wanted something new and different, but nothing seemed to work until we decided on 'Twas the Months Before Dancing..."  but since months is plural we had to switch it up to 'twere which doesn't quite have the same ring to it as 'Twas the Night Before Christmas but we think you can see where we're going with it.  Forgive the stuff that doesn't quite rhyme and the rhythm and meter that fail miserably.  We've warned you many times about our poetry skills.  In other words, read at your own risk. So we give you 'Twere the Months Before Dancing.

                          * * * * * * * * *

'Twere the months before Dancing
and through the ballroom
silence was everywhere
would there be impending doom?

Would Tristan be dancing?
Would his partner be grand?
Of course he’ll be waltzing
In Los Angeles land!

The bling is all shiny
lots of sequins we’ll see
but when MacManus dances
he’ll say, “No sequins for me!”

No speedos, no bungees
no naked bare chest
no Bollywood Samba
or a similar such mess.

We’ll see passion and hotness
and a Cha Cha with flair
a Quickstep that’s in hold
and a hot Tango stare.

A Rumba that sizzles
with passion so bold
and a Samba that shows S&S
those damned Samba rolls.

A Lambada to tempt us
the Salsa with splash
an Argentine Tango -
yields a collective hot flash.

The season’s a winner
we know it right now
and ask us, you might ask,
“But how, oh, but how?”

Because Tristan will seduce us
We’ll vote and we’ll call!
and his dance partner will be
the biggest ringer of all!

We’ll yell and we'll rant
and the comments might sting
but there’s no doubt who wins
the mirror ball trophy this spring.

The Irish Love Doctor
and his partner divine
will score all those 30s
which is such a great sign…

the talent, the intensity
the chemistry, the heat
the dance purist & the ringer
with lightning fast feet

will pull off the surprise
no mistakes, not a fall
and MacManus and his partner
win the tacky mirror ball!
